Meanwhile, Chassell's Brayden Larson put on a show, scoring an impressive 32 points, but it wasn't enough as Ontonagon took the win.
And here's where it gets controversial... the highly anticipated Calumet vs West Iron County game was postponed due to school cancellation. No make-up date has been announced yet, leaving fans eager for a new date.
On the hockey front, Houghton's Gremlins pulled off a thrilling 6-5 victory against Brother Rice. After a slow start, they scored four straight goals to secure the win. Braden Kari and Noah Maillette were the stars, each finding the back of the net twice.
Hancock's Bulldogs also had a dominant performance, routing Waukesha 9-0! Eight different players scored, with Brady Axford notching a brace.
Jeffers had an impressive showing at the North/South Showcase, blasting Traverse City Bay Reps 6-1. Max Nordstrom stole the show with a hat trick!
College Sports: Tech's Triumph and NMU's Challenge
In college basketball, both Michigan Tech teams will host Ferris State today, with the women's game at noon and the men's at 2:00. Northern squads will also face Ferris on Monday.
And in college hockey, the Michigan Tech Huskies had a fantastic night, cruising past Bemidji State 5-2. Max Koskipirtti and Isaac Gordon were the standout scorers, each finding the net twice.
