On March 1st, Oaklawn Park hosted an exciting race that showcased the talent of these two horses. Class President, owned by WinStar Farm, First Go Racing, and CHC, faced off against the Southwest Stakes winner, Silent Tactic, in a thrilling stretch battle. Despite the close call and a late bump, Class President refused to yield, winning the $1 million Rebel Stakes by a nose.
Jockey John Velazquez, a Hall of Fame rider, praised his horse's performance, especially considering it was Class President's first time racing around two turns. "I was very proud of him," Velazquez said. "He showed heart and determination, especially when Silent Tactic challenged him."
